A narrative of three years, 1837.

Photocopy of Jervey's reminiscences beginning in 1797, when he signed on as chief mate of the merchant ship America of Troy and sailed out of the port of Charleston (S.C.). Narrative describes in detail the capsizing and shipwreck of the ship Galliot, on which Jervey also served as chief mate, and the rescue of the Galliot's crew by the brig Apollo. Jervey goes on to recount his impressment into service on the British warship Edgar, describing life and cuisine on board the Edgar during the blockade of Cadiz (Spain?), an encounter with Moors, the capture of enemy ships, his escape from the Edgar, and his return to Charleston (S.C.).
